An invite-only Museum of Consciousness expedition. Three days in and around Cairo, ten sites, eight of them opened by private permission. Access to places that stay shut to the public, and often to archaeologists too.
The work is listening.
The sessions are sound-activated. Listening and acoustic practice inside enclosed stone, testing how the architecture shapes perception, attention, and how a group holds together in it. Some of these chambers were built for resonance. We treat them that way.
Eight of the ten permissions are private. Carl spent over ten years securing them from the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities. The permits get issued one at a time and rest on longstanding personal relationships, so there's no assuming this access comes again.

- Great Sphinx of Giza Private, at sunrise, with the plateau to ourselves. Then a world-first visit to the proposed site of Giza's Second Sphinx.
- Pyramid of Djedefre, Abu Rawash Private. Egypt's northernmost pyramid, rectangular-based and rarely visited.
- Great Pyramid of Khufu Private night entry, with sound work in the subterranean chamber.
- Saqqara and the Pyramid of Unas Egypt's earliest necropolis, and the pyramid that holds the earliest Pyramid Texts carved into its walls.
- Step Pyramid of Djoser Private access into the tunnel system beneath the oldest pyramid, down to the granite sarcophagus.
- Serapeum of Saqqara The underground chambers and their single-block sarcophagi, each cut at 60 to 70 tonnes.
- Abu Ghorab solar temple complex Private. The largest, best-preserved solar temple, reached at dawn across the sand from Abusir.
- Abusir tombs Private. Old Kingdom mastabas and carved reliefs, entered in silence and standing empty.
- The Osiris Shaft Private. Three vertical shafts and three levels under the Giza Plateau, descended by ladder.
Timings run dawn to nightfall and may shift a little on the ground.
